Ukraine and Poland in joint bid for Euro 2012
KIEV, Sept. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Poland and Ukraine are to launch a joint bid to stage the European football championships in 2012.
"The Polish government has agreed to back this idea," declared Marek Ziolkowski, Poland's ambassador to Ukraine announced on Wednesday.
The agreement comes after Russia turned down a similar approach from Ukraine, with Russian president Vladimir Putin saying in July that the two countries were ill-prepared for the task. Enditem
