Olympic chief denies Presidential retirement statement after poor Games
The first casualty of the national failure in the Olympic Games in Athens might be the head of the national Olympic Committee (PKOl) Stefan Paszczyk.
It turns out that while he had been awaiting his return plane to Poland, the President of Poland Aleksander Kwaœniewski announced that Paszczyk had stepped down. He agreed with the head of PKOl that neither Sejm nor the government are really interested with the fate of the Polish sportsmen. "We want successes, but we are not really ready to work hard for them," said Kwaœniewski. However Paszczyk denies he is giving up his job. (Source: http://www.wbj.pl/?command=article&id=23747) |
