British trio strike gold

Grantown's Craig MacLean was part of the British trio that struck gold in the team sprint in the Manchester leg of the world cup yesterday.

The achievement was all the more remarkable for Maclean, who needed stitches after a heavy fall during qualification for the Japanese Keirin event earlier in the day.

The British team were more than a second and a half clear of Poland who finished second.
